St. Callistus

"Let our judgement of souls cease, for God's mercy upon them is extraordinary."
- St. Faustina (1905 - 1938)

Today is the feast day of St. Callistus. St. Callistus was pope back in the 3rd century, and was martyred in Rome around 223 during the rule of Emperor Severus. The only account written of him is by St. Hippolytus (first anti-pope; Hippolytus is honored as a saint because he repented and died as a martyr in the mines of Sardinia). Callistus is the patron saint of cemetery workers.

St. Callistus, pray for us!
