Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

"The greatest saints, those richest in grace and virtue will be the most assiduous in praying to the most Blessed Virgin, looking up to Her as the perfect model to imitate and as a powerful helper to assist them."
- St. Louis de Montfort (1673 - 1716)

Today is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. This feast was originally celebrated in the East under the title of the Conception of Mary during the seventh century. The feast was celebrated in the West in the eighth century. In the eighteenth century, the feast of the Immaculate Conception became a feast of the universal Church. It is celebrated as a solemnity today.

Immaculate Mother, pray for us!
