Solemnity of the Annunciation

"O sinner, be not discouraged, but have recourse to Mary in all your necessities. Call her to your assistance, for such is the Divine Will that she should help in every kind of necessity."
- Saint Basil the Great (330 - 379)

Today is the Solemnity of the Annunciation. The feast day of the Annunciation was first celebrated in either the fourth or fifth century. The Annunciation is the feast day which commemorates the time when the archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would be the mother of the God-Man, who would be the Savior of the World.

Blessed Virgin Mary, pray for us!
Sweet Jesus, have mercy on us!
