- St. Francis Xavier (1506 - 1552)
Today is the feast day of St. Faith. She is believed to of died around the third century in Agen, Gaul (now France) during the persecution of Christians under the Roman emperor Diocletian. She was a virgin, and one of the many martyrs who would not sacrifice to the pagan gods of the Romans. She was a very popular saint during the Middle Ages, and there is said to of been many miracles that were worked at her shrine in Conques, France. She is the patron saint of pilgrims, prisoners, and soldiers.
